Home is Not This Body, by Karahn Washington

The idea for Home Is Not This Body started in a bar called Rey’s located in Greenville, South Carolina. One night at Rey’s, I was writing my first novel, The Escapist. A lady drunkenly walked through the doors, came up to me, and asked what I was doing. I told her that I was writing a novel. She told me that I should write a novel where other people write the story. One person starts the story off and then passes it on.

Months later, I took the idea and ran with it. I started the story based on my encounter with her. However, I decided to make her the main character…

Whew! I’m Marcia Reyes. It’s my 39th Birthday and I still have yet to get my life together.

I’m a prisoner of my own mind. Current uncertainties, past traumas, and anxieties about my future weigh me down. I live in a world where war is waged over influence. People’s minds are enslaved by Big Pharma, Influencers, and The Church — The Consequential 3.

How can I free my own mind and the minds of others from The Consequential 3? I just want to be able to connect with others in a meaningful and impactful way. I find myself fighting wars on multiple fronts. But how can I win the infinite game and fulfill my desire to connect with the world when I haven’t even won the war inside my own head?
