I’m a Christian teenage writer who loves the art of writing. Learning day by day how to make my work better and better.
What inspired you to start writing this book?
I am an avid reader and the books I’ve enjoyed made me realize how much I adore the profession of writing.
Tell us the story of your book’s current title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
The title of my story is Carry Me Through. I had originally planned to title it “Pack Light,” based on a joke made throughout the story, but it quickly died off. My new title seemed to be a bit of a better fit.
Describe your dream book cover.
I would love both of my characters on the front, line drawn, and light colors.
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
The songs “Fear is Not My Future” by Brandon Lake, “Feeling Good” by Micheal Buble, “HOPE” by NF, and “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone would definitely make an appearance.
What books are you reading (for research or comfort) as you continue the writing process?
Christian suspense novels and anything YA with no spice.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I work at a small coffee shop and write in my free time. You wouldn’t be able to tell now, but I used to hate my English and Language Arts classes.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
I would say authors like Dani Pettrey and Terri Blackstock really enforced my love of writing. When I read their books, I could tell they loved what they did and I began to love it too. I was on vacation with my family and I thought to myself “What if I wrote it?” Now I haven’t been able to stop!
Where is your favorite place to write?
I particularly enjoy writing at my desk in my small workspace. I have a lot of hobbies that fill the space and it just makes me feel good to be surrounded by the things I love.
Do you have any writing rituals?
I listen to the same playlist every time I write to remind myself that it’s time to work.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?
I want the readers to take from the story that God is always with you no matter the circumstance. I write to glorify God and I would love to see readers who love Him or want to know Him.
