How did it feel when you first saw your book cover? Or when you first held your book in your hands?

I was so happy that I started crying. I was publishing my first book at the age of sixty-nine. Almost a lifetime of suffering had not been in vain. Other people would benefit from my experience.

Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?

My homeopath, Betsey, was the first person in my life who gave me hope to heal while I was begging my children to euthanize me. When I was free of pain, diseases, and all of my medications and started to live a healthy life, I told her that I could do anything for her. And so she asked me to write a book to inspire others.

What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?

Today, when people tell me that my book is helping them by giving hope to heal, I thank all the sufferings in my life. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to relieve people’s pain.

If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?

What A Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong

I Believe I Can Fly – R. Kelly

Grateful – Rita Hora

What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?

I wrote my book so that people can benefit from my experience and learn to love themselves so that they can live healthy and happy lives. My perfect reader is someone (or knows someone) who is suffering from illness and is seeking hope and a way to move forward without the addiction of drugs.

How was working with Atmosphere Press? What would you tell other writers who want to publish?

It was a privilege for me to work with Atmosphere Press. I am a perfectionist who attaches great importance to honesty and keeping my word. Atmosphere Press printed and marketed my book quickly and exactly the way I wanted. They drew the cover of my book many times until I was satisfied. Every single person I worked with was competent, kind, and honest. I highly recommend them to all my writer friends. If I write a book again, I know where it will be published.
