Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
It made sense to name it My Page since it was the mythical social media site where the protagonist worked.
How did it feel when you first saw your book cover? Or when you first held your book in your hands?
It was an amazing experience! I felt the butterflies in my stomach when I saw it for the first time.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
Sometimes I blame it on being an only child or maybe a Scorpio. We have rich internal lives that need to make it out somehow.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I’ve worked in Insurance and Academic Advising. I just won honorable mention for My Page at the Los Angeles book festival! That was quite exciting!
What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?
Going through the process. Now that I have, I feel that I have gained an understanding of what goes into making a book.
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
Anything by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Glass Animals, or Smashing Pumpkins, sprinkled with some bluegrass.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?
I hope it’s an entertaining read that is thought-provoking about social media use.
What new writing projects are you currently working on? Or, other projects that are not writing?
I’m working on another novel right now that has vibes that include sci-fi, classic, and young adult fiction.
How was working with Atmosphere Press? What would you tell other writers who want to publish?
It was great! Very easy to work with and they kept me on track! I appreciate all the help they provided me to get my book out in the world.
