Carlota Josefina Bérard has a Ph.D. in Drama & Performance from the University of Exeter, England, a Diploma in Art Therapy from L’Atelier, Geneva, Switzerland, an MLitt in Art History from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Universidad de Monterrey, Mexico.
She is the author of Jardín Cerrado, Blanco, and Greta Legris published with Editorial Amarante, Salamanca, Spain. She is a full-time writer and currently lives in Vienna, Austria with her husband, son, and dog.

Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
My dearest mother as well as Françoise Sagan’s novel Bonjour Tristesse.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I have worked in painting, sculpture, drama, art therapy, and performance art.
What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?
Everything!

The Pride and Prejudice soundtrack by Dario Marianelli.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?
The poetry, joy, beauty, peace, and love found in the little things…
