Originally from Rochester, New York, I have been a lifelong enthusiast of epic fantasy and world-building. My debut novel, Sons of Wunduria, reflects my passion for creating immersive worlds and unforgettable characters, inviting readers on an enthralling journey filled with ancient civilizations and fearsome creatures.
My creative journey began as a musician in my teenage years, and over time, I found a new outlet for my imagination through writing. Becoming an author has been both an exciting and rewarding challenge, and I look forward to exploring where this creative path will take me.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
My nonstop imagination moved me to start writing. My influences are the late and great Tolkien. I am also a huge fan of J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I have worked professionally as a musician and graphic artist. I have also worked in marketing.
Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
The title of my book began with an idea of mine back in my college years. I originally wrote the story on my PC, which later crashed and I lost a majority of it. Took me about fifteen years to write it again. The title, Sons of Wunduria, stems from the overall story arc of strangers becoming brothers through adversity and strengthening one another to save their homeland.
How did it feel when you first saw your book cover? Or when you first held your book in your hands?
My book cover was a last-minute decision, which I currently regret. Lol.
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
The album Chronos from Brand X Music would make a perfect soundtrack.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?
Something important to me is gratitude, which I find lacking these days in people. My perfect reader would take away that there are many things in life that we take for granted, so we should pay more attention to how and why we have such good lives.
What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?
The most rewarding part is hearing from fans who express how meaningful the story is to them.
What new writing projects are you currently working on? Or, other projects that are not writing?
I am currently working on the sequel to my first novel and I am composing music for it as well.
Are you a writer, too? Submit your manuscript to Atmosphere Press.
