An Interview with Mmesoma Ugwu

Mmesoma Ugwu is a graduate from a prestigious university in Nigeria. She is a writer and freelances on Upwork. She is a woman of great dreams and has a passion to see young people grow correctly. She believes that addictions can be broken no matter how intense one gets addicted to a sexual sin. She is a Christian and believes in the power of God.

She also has other unpublished books currently in progress.

She is one woman to look out for in the future.

What inspired you to start writing this book?

My love for teenagers and the hunger to see that they are free from addiction.

Tell us the story of your book’s current title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?

Teenagers and Sexual Addiction – It wasn’t hard to find. I already had the topic in mind before writing.

A Thing Around Her Neck by Chimamanda Adichie

What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?

I am a writer. I am also a Mathematics tutor.

Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?

Yes, I had counseled a lot of people in the past who were addicted to a particular sexual sin or the other. I was touched. I wanted them to know that they took could be free just like myself.

And then, I wrote the book.

Where is your favorite place to write?

My reading table.

Do you have any writing rituals?

Writing at least a thousand words daily

What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book?

No matter how intense addiction gets, it can be broken.
