Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?

This book is a tribute to my mother and all those who have been impacted by trauma.

What inspired you to start writing this book?

I hope that my story can help someone who is struggling to overcome challenges and can serve as a source of empowerment tool to help them move beyond toxic situations and live their best life.

Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?

Who Will Take Care of Me Now? –This is the first thought that came to my mind when I lost my mom.

If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?

“Greatest Love of All” and “I’m Every Woman” – Whitney Houston

“This Girl is on Fire” – Alicia Keyes

Describe your dream book cover.

I think the book cover that I have chosen represents me. A young lady with blurry eyes who has been in the trenches but has managed to survive.

What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?

I have twenty years of corporate leadership experience where I have led successful projects and teams.

What books did you read (for research or comfort) throughout your writing process?

Rick Warren – Purpose Driven Life, Cicely Tyson – Just As I Am, Joel Olsteen – Your Best Life Now, Jay Shetty – Youtube, and Eric Thomas – The Hip Hop Preacher.

What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?

My vision with Who Will Take Care of Me Now? and my platform is to create an empowerment movement and a platform where every girl, woman, man, or boy who has endured trauma can embark on a journey of healing and empowerment, transcending their past to shape a future filled with resilience, joy, and purpose. For individuals to know their WHY and their unique qualities.

Life can be hard enough without having to continue to carry the baggage that was inflicted upon you by someone else’s actions. We tend to hold that trauma or event as a shield or as an excuse to not move forward. It’s time to release the hurt and pain. I hope that my story can serve as a message that it is okay to release the baggage and to put yourself on the correct path to happiness. It is also ok to not be okay and that no one will judge you and that there is help out here.
