I live in Colchester, Vermont, with my husband Brian. I am starting a teen program and nonprofit called Vermont Youth Challenge and we enjoy being in a car group.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
I never thought to write a book. Just a thought that said to write my story.
What inspired you to start writing this book?
All the events that happened throughout my life began to play over and over in my mind and I didn’t know why. I walked into work and a commercial to publish a Christian story was on the radio and I knew I was to write my story.
Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
I wanted more meaning to my life and all the events that happened throughout my life were leading me to how I was to live a bigger life.
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
“Unsteady” and “Not Easy” by X Ambassadors and “Sunday’s Coming” by Zach Williams.
Describe your dream book cover.
A pair of holding hands with a sunbeam shining down from a cloud.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I have worked and own a Dental Laboratory with my husband for thirty years, but I have tried many part-time jobs working for an auction house, a driver for seniors, and working in a warehouse. I also wrote a cookbook for gluten-free kids but did not get published.
What books did you read (for research or comfort) throughout your writing process?
My favorite book, Embraced by the Light, and researched the spiritual meaning of many animals and birds.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?
The perfect reader would be anyone looking for hope, lost, depressed, addicted. This story is to give hope in prayer, that we are never alone, and there is a purpose for everyone. Our challenges can be learned and turned into our mission and purpose to help others.
