An Interview with Victoria Robinson

robinson

I am a small-town girl who has always loved to read and write creatively. I always wanted to be able to be an author but never was able to try and didn’t know where to start. But now, in my middle age, I have decided to give it a try.

What inspired you to start writing this book?

I wanted to write my own version of how a story should end. I love reading books but always think, if I’d written it, I would have done it this way. So I want to tell my own story.

Tell us the story of your book’s current title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?

The title, Tempest’s Storm, came easily to me. Tempest is the name of my FMC and she’s a force to be reckoned with.

Describe your dream book cover.

I’m not very creative artistically, but I’d love for this one to have Tempest on the front, in the middle of the storm, looking like the amazing woman she is.

If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?

I don’t typically listen to music while writing, but ACDC’s “Highway to Hell” maybe.

What books are you reading (for research or comfort) as you continue the writing process?

I am reading several and have read several. I’m going to try to not incorporate a lot of ancient history in my book, possibly some artwork names, otherwise just researching for things I need.

What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?

Healthcare, veterinary technology, call center scheduling, a factory, fast food. I’m an open book as far as knowledge about me, there’s nothing to hide.

Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?

I have always loved reading. And I guess my first fantasy author was Quinn Loftis. I read her first book when it came out and she inspired me because it baffled me how she kept track of who was doing what and when and everything else.

Where is your favorite place to write?

Anywhere. I usually use an app on my phone that will translate my words to a book format on my computer.

Do you have any writing rituals?

Nope, not at all. I’m just getting started right now, so haven’t developed any cute quirks yet lol.

What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?

I would love for my readers to be able to relate to my characters and feel their feelings. If I haven’t done that then I haven’t done my job.
