In this life, we will face difficult challenges along the way. Once they arise, there are two ways to respond to them. We can make our own decisions by doing what seems best for us, thinking that we know how to handle the situation. Most people go through life by trusting in their own understanding of making choices their way instead of God’s way. The second way is to turn to the Lord and trust in Him, not leaning on your own understanding. We must acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord over our lives because no matter what you’re going through, “count it all joy.”
James 1:2-4 quotes: My brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
I read it in the book of James 1, and it seemed like it just came off the pages.
I sense the Holy Spirit speaking to me to “count it all joy” when we go through trials.
How did it feel when you first saw your book cover? Or when you first held your book in your hands?
The reality set in to remind me that all things are possible to those who believe in the Lord.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
My pastor always encourages us to write a journey, so hearing that really inspired me.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I would also love to write short stories for children, as the Lord has gifted me to share different stories with many children. I currently drive a school bus.
What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?
As people read this book, they can relate to similar struggles and challenges that they encounter along life’s journey. The words on the pages come to life to help readers to keep their faith in God.
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
Count it all Joy by gospel singers Cece Winans and Bebe Winans.
What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?
The book is saturated with The Word of God to impact and encourage the readers.
What creative projects are you currently working on?
None at this current moment, but I’m looking forward to starting to write children’s stories.
How was working with Atmosphere Press? What would you tell other writers who want to publish?
I had a great experience working with Atmosphere Press. They have a great team to help you through the process.
