Having the right narrator is key, so we’ll pinpoint what you want and rehearse multiple voice talents to find the best representative for your work. Then we help navigate the production process and ready your book for wide distribution.
Audiobook-building timeline
Crafting an audiobook is a step-by-step process. Clear communication and a steady timeline are the best way to make yours beautiful.
Week 1
Let's Start
Your initial payment:
Send along the $200 deposit for your audio samples. This deposit will go towards the total cost of the project.
Audiobook survey:
Once completed, your answers to the survey will help guide us to your perfect narrator.
Be as thorough as possible, and feel free to send us any additional notes or comments you want considered while we begin searching for your ideal narrator.
Weeks 2-3
Audio Samples
Customized samples:
Once we have 4-6 great audio samples, we will send them to you for listening.
Give a close listen:
Listen to all the samples, and choose the narrator that you like the most. Once you’re committed to a narrator, there’s no going back. So choose wisely!
If you need more samples:
Don’t like the first batch of narrators? We will send you one more round of 4-6 samples.
Weeks 3-6
Production
Production notes template:
We will send you a template for all the notes you want the narrator to have. Include all your characters and their traits. This allows the narrator to nail the recording the first time around.
Extended Sample:
We will get an extended ~15 min sample from the narrator, and this allows us to fine-tune any last details before production begins.
Submit payment:
Submit the complete first 1/2 payment.
Weeks 6-8
Post Production
File approval:
Audio files will be sent to you as they are completed. Give them a listen, and if there are any edits needed, we can get them addressed at this time.
Files complete:
After all the audio files are approved, we will get to work on the upload. This includes filling in all the required metadata, cover reconfiguration, and linking to your print & ebook formats.
Submit payment:
Submit the remaining project balance.
Weeks 8-10
Distribution
Quality Control:
Your completed audiobook will go through QC to ensure it meets all the audio and file requirements. It is usually complete within 1 week.
Additional Quality Control:
Some vendors/retailers have an extra fine filter for quality control.
Distribution:
Over the course of 30 days your audiobook will show up across the distribution network!

Distribution Only is for authors who want to record their own audiobook, or have a friend or family member that wants to record the book for them? It offers all the same great distribution as any other audiobook, but we use your completed audio rather than using an outside narrator. We just need the finished audio files that meet the requirements from the distributor, and we’ll handle the rest. From the cover art reconfiguration to the metadata input, and all the way through upload and distribution.
As soon as your paperback and ebook are listed on Amazon we will start seeking audio samples. Once you choose your favorite narrator we will get right into production.
Audiobook production typically takes between 4-8wks. Every book is different though, and we’ll work to get a production timeline as soon as a narrator is selected.

Additionally, they discuss options and benefits with every author during scheduled calls and emails during the interior design phase of publication.
