What inspired you to start writing this book?
I was inspired to write Take My Breath Far Away by my travels around the world. I tasted the mist of ancient rainforests on my breath. I saw the blue horizon stretch into infinity in French Polynesia. I walked under the moon, my boots stomping in zebra tracks, hyena howls on the wind. I heard the growl of lionesses as they feasted. An old, giant whale shark cast a shadow over me. I tasted fear while hitchhiking alone. My writings share these experiences with the world. Adventure is calling…will you answer?
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
Babel by Mumford and Sons.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I’ve helped about a dozen horses give birth.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
Ernest Hemingway.
What’s one thing you hope sticks with readers after they finish your book?
I hope that readers who finish Take My Breath Far Away come away with these ideas: trust the unknown, live your life to the fullest, and adventure far and humbly.
