Anastasia Lindsey is a timeless soul and author who participates in interdimensional traveling and building beautiful poems to capture the hearts of souls around the world in the most loving and supportive ways possible. This humble writer was born and raised in a small town in Illinois where she currently resides in a beautiful, cozy house on a patch of land with the love of her life, Dakota.
Anastasia has been writing since grade school and has always used empathy, pain, and—most importantly—love as her muses to write poems that help heal. Although an author, she is also the owner of a small business, Summer Solace Holistic Healing & Poetry, where she uses different modalities to help others heal including reiki, meditation, sound healing, and hypnosis, and she has recently started her journey into Shamanism. She also enjoys painting, drawing, crafting, and singing, and even auditioned for The Voice in 2017.
Anastasia’s angelic soul and empathetic nature make her one of a kind in this world. Her words take readers on many journeys and with the strong hope of returning home, safe and in love.

Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
My book’s title came to me while under a meditative state. I receive messages from my spirit team (angels and guides) while I meditate, and I knew I needed a title that was healing in nature and then waves appeared in my mind’s eye. I immediately said O C E A N. When you think about the healing properties of water, it cleanses, purifies, and soothes. Water washes away, it balances, and it calms. There was no other title that could embody all of those things listed above, other than O C E A N.
How did it feel when you first saw your book cover? Or when you first held your book in your hands?
It was exactly what I envisioned it to be and MORE. Feelings of joy, excitement, and peace flooded my aura. I felt rushed with calmness and I knew in that moment, this was the perfect cover for my book. The team did a great job helping me achieve this and I now know when people pick up my book, they will feel love and peace!
What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?
There isn’t a feeling that can compare to holding your book in your hands for the first time. It’s like no other! The most rewarding part is seeing it all come together and experiencing your soul feel light and free—like you’re following your life’s purpose! It’s very rewarding and I can feel the glowing, radiant light of my heart in physical form when I flip through the pages of my book—it’s a beautiful experience.
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
There are so many songs that could potentially make the cut for O C E A N, but if the song is deep in tones and lyrics, it has potential! The songs that really worked for me were the following: Spiderwebs by Alfie Jukes, I Will Spend My Whole Life Loving You by Imaginary Future and Kina Grannis, What If I Took It Off For You by Nemahsis, Deep Green by Christian Kuria, Calm & Patient by Jhene Aiko, and Lonely City by Mokita. Such a range of artists but their energy, vibration, tones, and lyrics really did something to me while I was reading my poetry!
What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?
I hope my readers realize that they aren’t alone; that healing is possible, and love is around the corner—especially love for the self. I hope that O C E A N sparks a journey of healing for each reader and that they turn each page knowing they have someone in the world that understands them. My biggest wish for O C E A N is that each reader sees something beautiful within themselves that gives them the courage to make it back to their own shore safe, happy, and at peace.
What new writing projects are you currently working on? Or, other projects that are not writing?
I’m working on my next book! CHEERS! It will be similar to O C E A N, but much deeper and with a theme of its own. It’s actually going to be a four-part series and I’m really looking forward to writing these books and having my own collection out there. I believe that readers are going to fall in love with this idea that I’ve conjured as I have fallen deeply in love with what I have in store for them! Healing doesn’t stop here—we are just getting started, and I am here for my readers every step of the way!
How was working with Atmosphere Press? What would you tell other writers who want to publish?
At the time Atmosphere Press had accepted my book for publication, I also had other offers to consider but I was immediately sold upon speaking with them. In my heart, it was a big YES and I haven’t had one bit of regret since. Each member of the team has been extremely helpful from Cover Design, Editing, Publicity, Interior, to answering any and all questions, offering helpful suggestions, and being extremely friendly and patient. I always felt in control and was given the creative freedom to make all the decisions! They offered helpful advice, a lot of which I would have never thought about. My book is perfect, and I could not have done it without their help! If you are on the fence about publishing with Atmosphere, let my message be your sign to say YES!
