An Interview with Godric Sun
Born into a racially mixed military family, raised in a Catholic orphanage and adopted later on.
What inspired you to start writing this book?
My love of the mythology of Sun WuKong and a longing to write my book and a world of my own contained within the pages.
Tell us the story of your book’s current title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
After choosing my subject, the title wrote itself.

What books are you reading (for research or comfort) as you continue the writing process?
I’m currently reading Anne Rice’s Pandora. I’m also rereading Wheel of Time.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
I’ve had many jobs. I’ve been a cook for most of my life, worked in construction, concrete, retail, and hospitality.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
I’ve always enjoyed reading about heroes and villains. I love imagining the world constructed in each novel and felt compelled to share a story of my own.
Where is your favorite place to write?
I love being anywhere while I write. I don’t confine myself anywhere as I feel inspiration is everywhere, we need only open our eyes to the wonders around us. Music has a strong influence on my writing.
What advice would you give your past self at the start of your writing journey?
Don’t rush it! Feel it in your heart, and it’ll flow like wine.
What’s one thing you hope sticks with readers after they finish your book?
The feeling that hope is never truly lost. Sure, troubles come and go but, how will you stand and fight?
