Freelance novelist/screenwriter seeking screen media interest. Loves art galleries, beaches, forest walks, and people.
What inspired you to start writing this book?
My love of thrilling family sagas and dislike of fake art fired my passion to explore and write about the complexities of the criminal mind.
Tell us the story of your book’s current title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?
This story sat on my shoulders for years, until one day l felt compelled to reach for my laptop. Three interconnecting novels in six years; never had so much fun.
Describe your dream book cover.
I have three dream book covers, all depicting the essence of my story. The right choice is vital.
If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?
So many choices, something imbuing symphonic tension. Modern classical, as my story set in the present day.
What books are you reading (for research or comfort) as you continue the writing process?
The Secret Queen by John Ashdown-Hill. I see a feature film on my horizon.
What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?
My previous career involved selling property for Chartered Surveyors. Meeting people of all types gives you a clear insight into the human mind.
Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?
Oh, yes…Agatha Christie.
Where is your favorite place to write?
My writing den, although l always carry a notepad and pen; inspiration flows regardless of time and place.
What advice would you give your past self at the start of your writing journey?
Edit each chapter prior to beginning the next. My editor returned my manuscripts with two words written in red. No interventions, so satisfying.
What’s one thing you hope sticks with readers after they finish your book?
To recognise and accept human frailty; to forgive the unforgiving and enjoy the ride.
