An Interview with Silver Phoenix

Silver Phoenix is a qualified Teacher-Tutor of English Literature in Arts and Humanities, holding a BA HONS Degree in English Literature. She has a natural talent and love for creative art since childhood, even before school. She can still remember, since the tender age of five, jotting down her thoughts in a pocket diary in the form of stories, poems, and song lyrics.

Silver also enjoys painting, drawing cartoons and comic-strip as well as sculpting clay models, ceramics and pottery, so it’s always been there from an early age. When not writing, Silver LOVES animals and the natural environment, living and caring for beloved pet Chihuahuas and parents as well.

Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?

My book’s title was inspired by the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023. I also wanted to pay homage to all of the women making the world a better place. Also, Sweet Caroline was the song the England Lionesses and their fans sang after their wins.

How did it feel when you first saw your book cover? Or when you first held your book in your hands?

I was super-excited when I first saw my book. It’s such a lovely feeling to hold it in your hands.

Who/what made you want to write?

I am a huge fan of Jane Austin. She is one of my role models.

What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?

I work with animal charities and have adopted/sponsored girls in poverty to help educate them and give them a strong and inspirational, positive start in life. I want to provide a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. I love a world with a green and natural environment with clear blue skies. I want everyone to be loving and kind to one another. Peace and harmony.

What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?

Seeing it come alive. When I write, I try to breathe life into all my characters for my audience.

If your book had a soundtrack, what are some songs that would be on it?

It would be an inspirational soundtrack with an intense beat. They would range from Sweet Caroline to singers like Blondie (Call Me), ABBA, and Karen Carpenter. Soft, velvet-voiced, to Kate Bush and Toyah and Pink to Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Or heroines like Sigourney Weaver as Ripley in Alien. Inspirational songs for true heroines.

What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?

A respect, admiration, and gratitude for every woman in every walk of life.

My perfect reader is the one who shares and empathises with me.

What creative projects are you currently working on?

I’ve just completed my second book for Atmosphere, called Love Will Find Its Way (Hues of Pink). It’s a romantic novel of seventy chapters as well as a screenplay. It’s about a Japanese girl called Yuuki and her search for love. She also has a recurring dream of her idol and role model, Barbie. The novel follows her search for love, from birth to a ripe old age.

How was working with Atmosphere Press? What would you tell other writers who want to publish?

A very enjoyable experience. Everyone is so professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. I tell other writers to turn to Atmosphere for the best and most rewarding writing experience
