An Interview with Kassondra Shobert

Kasie currently resides in a small town where she works for a living as an MRI technologist to make a better life for her fur babies. She has eight cats and a dog. She has an identical twin sister who is her best friend. She’s very involved in her small town’s local cat rescue.

Tell us the story of your book’s title. Was it easy to find, or did it take forever?

I changed the title of my book entirely a few months before fully publishing it to something that I believed better fit the background story.

How did it feel when you first saw your book cover? Or when you first held your book in your hands?

Amazing. I always wanted to become an author, but it was a totally different experience actually holding my book and being able to say “I did it. This is my biggest and most valuable accomplishment.”

Who/what made you want to write? Was there a particular person, or particular writers/works/art forms that influenced you?

My mother and sister have always been my biggest inspiration and support system when it comes to my writing. Also, I have always loved fantasy and sci-fi and wanted to be able to create something similar.

What other professions have you worked in? What’s something about you that your readers wouldn’t know?

I have a degree in X-Ray. I have also worked as a CT Technologist, Cardiac Cath Lab technologist, and currently work as an MRI technologist.

What was the most rewarding/meaningful part of publishing your book?

Being able to sit down, hold it in my hands, and flip through the pages.

What is one thing you hope readers take away from reading your book? How do you envision your perfect reader?

I want to make them feel as if they are actually there in the book. A distraction like that takes us away from the everyday stressful situations in our current lives. It’s nice to give your mind a break.

What new writing projects are you currently working on? Or, other projects that are not writing?

I am currently working on the next book in this series, titled Eternal Darkness: The Light One Saga.
